Hu et al., Circulation 2000
(Anoxia...) :
Reoxygenation induced [ Ca ( 2+ ) ] ( i ) oscillations were abolished by 10 micromol/L diphenyleneiodonium, an
inhibitor of
NAD ( P ) H oxidase ( n=7 ), and by polyethylene glycol
(PEG)-catalase ( 5000 U/mL, n=4 ) but were not prevented by inhibitors of xanthine oxidase ( n=5 ), cyclooxygenase ( n=4 ), nitric oxide synthase ( n=5 ), the mitochondrial electron transport chain ( n=4 ), or by PEG-superoxide dismutase ( n=5 )
Kojim et al., Jpn J Pharmacol 2002
:
Catalase ( 3000-6000 U/ml ), a hydrogen peroxide ( H2O2 ) scavenger or diphenylene iodonium ( DPI, 10-100 microM ), an
NADPH oxidase inhibitor , concentration-dependently caused an increase of the sum of 5-HT plus 5-HIAA accumulation in the presence of 5-HTP ( 10 microM ), but these drugs did not significantly affect the 5-HT-metabolite in the colonic mucosa measured as the ratio of 5-HIAA/5-HT. Exogenously applied H2O2 ( 10-100 microM ) concentration-dependently inhibited the sum of 5-HT plus 5-HIAA accumulation
Chien et al., Biochem Biophys Res Commun 2006
(Lung Neoplasms) :
However, scavenging of vanadate induced reactive oxygen species by
catalase , a specific H ( 2 ) O ( 2 ) inhibitor, or DPI, an
NADPH oxidase inhibitor , resulted in no inhibition on COX-2 expression
Hidalgo et al., J Biol Chem 2006
:
NADH diminished the total thiol content of triads by one-third ;
catalase or apocynin, a
NOX inhibitor , prevented this effect
Rubio et al., Photochem Photobiol Sci 2009
(Mammary Neoplasms, Experimental) :
An inhibitory
effect of extracellular
catalase indicated the involvement of hydrogen peroxide in the spread of cell death and
NADPH oxidase was determined as the principal source of hydrogen peroxide
Chen et al., Cardiovasc Res 2009
(MAP Kinase Signaling System) :
Superoxide anion production was significantly increased due to the inhibition of mitochondrial membrane potential and
catalase and superoxide dismutase ( SOD ) activities as well as
activation of
NADPH oxidase
Ranjbar et al., Hum Exp Toxicol 2010
:
In brain mitochondria, malathion
enhanced LPO, NOx,
CAT , GPx, and MnSOD and decreased GSH/GSSG as compared to controls, whereas PTX and AT restored malathion induced changes in GSH/GSSG,
NOx , GPx, and CAT
Dayal et al., Circulation 2013
(Thrombosis) :
Enhanced platelet activation responses in aged mice were also prevented by polyethylene
glycol-catalase or apocynin, an
inhibitor of
NADPH oxidase
